About Scottie

A morning brief for people who read too much.

Scottie is what happens when a small team of builders decides the firehose isn't the answer. Every source you follow, read overnight, returned to you as one editorial brief — every claim linked back to where it came from.

Why we exist.

The feeds keep multiplying. Newsletters, podcasts, subreddits, YouTube channels, city papers — every one of them worth something, all of them together impossible to keep up with. So most of us settle for skimming, feeling behind, and quietly worrying we missed the one thing that mattered.

We didn't want another feed. We wanted fewer things — the ones that actually earned the morning. So we built the thing we wished existed: a small team of builders, a lot of reading, and one editorial brief in your inbox before your coffee's cool.

We're building the thing we wanted to open every morning.

What we believe.

  1. 01
    Signal over volume.
Fewer things, better read. The point isn't to cover everything — it's to cover what matters to you.
  2. 02
    Every claim, linked.
Nothing summarized without a source you can open. If Scottie can't cite it, it doesn't ship.
  3. 03
    Written to, never read.
Your inbox is yours. We deliver a brief; we don't crawl your mail, and we never will.
  4. 04
    Boring on purpose.
No streaks, no push notifications, no engagement games. Attention isn't a metric to optimize — it's a resource to protect.
  5. 05
    One brief, one time.
Mornings are for reading, not scrolling. Scottie shows up once, does its job, and gets out of your way.

How we work.

Small team, on purpose. Editorial standards borrowed from newsrooms, not feed algorithms. We pick models by the quality of what they produce — not by whichever launched loudest this week — and we throw out anything Scottie can't source.

Every brief is an object we'd be proud to put our name on. If it wouldn't earn your five minutes, it doesn't leave the building.

The team.

Small team. Strong opinions about newsletters.
